Im a Dixie Girl
Wins the Bassinet
by Emily Hufford
Im a Dixie Girl, a two-year-old daughter of Dixie
Union, won her second stakes race in a row when she took the Bassinet
Stakes at River Downs on Saturday. The beautiful dark bay filly
was ridden by Willie Martinez, who guided her to a neck win over
Runway Model, a daughter of Petionville.
Gallant Secret, returning from a layoff since finishing
second to Lunarpal in May, finished third, and Angel Trumpet was
fourth.
Bernie Flint trains Im a Dixie Girl, who won the
Colleen Stakes by 8 1/4 lengths on August 7th. She is owned by William
Carl. |
