Greeley's Galaxy

Nursing several physical ailments, I made my way to Churchill Downs just past 7:30 to discover that I'd already missed out on a lot of action. Greeley's Galaxy, who still impresses me more every day, had gone out for a gallop and was unfortunately stuck on the track when there was an accident that closed the track for a while. When it reopened, he came bouncing off, looking none the worse for wear. He is scheduled to work tomorrow, and I am very interested to see how he will go. This could all be a moot point if he gets shut out of the entry box, but I really am quite enamored with him currently.

Sun King, also scheduled to work tomorrow, and Noble Causeway were both on the track before I arrived, so I can't comment on how they looked as of today.

During the break we invaded the Todd Pletcher barn to meet his trio of Kentucky Derby contenders. I can't decide who I like better, to be honest. I was all over Flower Alley after his Lane's End Stakes win, but this week in his gallops he hasn't wowed me. Coin Silver made me roll my eyes when he won the Lexington, but he is the nicest of the Pletcher Three to be around in the barn, and he has room for improvement. Bandini is getting tougher to handle by the day, and Pletcher assistant Michelle mentioned that although he is small in size, his thinks he's "the biggest horse in the barn."
