New York Yank, Reinvent Win Two-Year-Old Stakes at the Meadowlands

Meadowlands Racetrack in East Rutherford, New Jersey is building up to the biggest day of harness racing this Saturday, the Hambletonian. Thursday, August 5, the feature races were for 2-year-olds. The third race, the Peter Haughton Memorial, was a one mile trot for 2-year-old colts and geldings with a purse of $420,000. New York Yank won for driver Ron Pierce and trainer Noel Daley. The sixth race, the Merrie Annabelle, a one mile trot for 2-year-old fillies had a purse of $450,620. Reinvent won for Ron Pierce, who swept the day's features, and trainer Brett Pelling.
