Mill
Ridge Farm Photos and Text by Emily Hufford
In early February I visited Mill Ridge Farm, which stands
three very impressive stallions. The first is the world-renowned Gone
West, a twenty-year-old stud who has sired 71 stakes winners, including
several Breeders' Cup winners. The son of Mr. Prospector stands for $125,000.

The next stallion that they showed was Diesis, a twenty-four-year-old
stallion who was a group one winner in England.

The final stallion that Mill Ridge owns is Commendable, the 2000 Belmont
Stakes winner. He pranced out of his stall into the snow with his red
mane flying off of his arched neck, looking fantastic. He posed for the
camera and seemed in picture perfect health.

Mill Ridge was standing the stallion Anees for one season before he tragically
died very young. They have recently acquired a new stallion, Johar, who
won the 2003 Breeders' Cup Turf.
